Will CBD Get You High
WILL CBD GET YOU HIGH?
The short answer is NO. Now, for the scientific reasoning. CBD does have an effect on your body, but it doesn’t get you “high.” This is why the federal government legalized it in 2018! Full-spectrum CBD extract products from Proper Canna Naturals are for everyone, and great to use any time of day.
Many people wonder if CBD will get them high when they first start out with hemp products, and are pleasantly surprised to find otherwise! As most CBD companies didn’t exist before 2018, most people didn’t encounter CBD before then. Since 2018, the stigma around CBD has dropped significantly. However, many people still don’t know the science behind what CBD does in the body, and what effects it can have. And that’s where we come in!
This full-spectrum CBD guide will answer questions such as:
- Will CBD get you high?
- How does CBD work in the body?
- How does CBD make you feel?
- Should I use broad spectrum or full spectrum CBD?
Proper Canna Naturals also has several other CBD guides for beginners to help you begin your journey. These different hemp extract guides will help you choose the product that is best for you, and help you better understand cannabinoids.
How Does CBD Work in the body?
Due to the numerous benefits of cannabidiol (CBD), interest has been growing at an incredible rate in recent years. As interest grows with this wonderful compound, so does confusion. Many people have the misperception that CBD is like THC in marijuana, and has the ability to get you ‘high’. It does not, CBD is non-psychoactive.
CBD is one of the over 100 beneficial compounds called cannabinoids that come from the cannabis sativa plant hemp plant. While it comes from the cannabis plant, CBD doesn’t have the same ability to create intoxifying effects like its more infamous counterpart, THC.
Yes, CBD may effect how your body and mind feel. But the meaning of intoxifying is “overpowering exhilaration or excitement of the mind or emotions” through a substance. Often these substances are poisonous. CBD is neither poisonous nor creates overpowering exhilaration.
Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is another popular cannabinoid known for its psychoactive effects. But don’t confuse THC with CBD — these two compounds might come from the same plant, but that doesn’t mean they do the same thing to your body or your mind.
What Is The Endocannabinoid System?
CBD and THC both affect the cannabinoid type 1 receptors (CB1) in your brain, but they have very different effects. THC binds to the receptors, activating them and causing a feeling of euphoria or ‘high’. The high from THC can leave you feeling relaxed, euphoric, happy, focused, creative, hungry, and leave you with an enhanced sense of taste, touch, smell, sound, and sight.
While CBD binds to the same receptors, it does not cause the same feelings as THC. However, it does have a number of the same potential therapeutic benefits that THC users also claim. This is the largest difference between the two cannabinoids and why the federal government legalized hemp-derived CBD extract.
Proper Canna CBD comes from hemp plants, not marijuana plants. While the two plants are close relatives, hemp by definition contains less than 0.3% THC. Marijuana is categorized as any cannabis plant that contains over the .3% level of THC. The hemp plant naturally has higher levels of CBD, and very low to no THC.
How does CBD make you feel?
CBD oil is a non-psychoactive compound known for supporting overall wellness in humans and pets. CBD is being widely adopted by health enthusiasts around the globe for supporting cellular and molecular health. There are dozens of potential uses for the calming, focusing, and anti-inflammatory properties of organic full-spectrum CBD oil.
It may help you maintain focus, promote a sense of calm and wellbeing, help your body’s natural ability to cope with stress (internal and external), recover from exercise-induced inflammation, support natural sleep cycles, and more.
Proper Canna features USDA certified organic full-spectrum CBD in our product lineup, which contains not only CBD, but many other beneficial phytocannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. However, we also offer broad-spectrum CBD oils. This creates an option for everyone, as full-spectrum CBD oil does contain minor amounts of THC.
But, what are the differences between full-spectrum and broad-spectrum CBD? Which product is right for you and your needs?
What Is Full-spectrum Hemp Extract?
Full-spectrum CBD refers to the pure oil extracted from a hemp plant, containing all the unmodified cannabinoids and compounds present in the plant, including THC. Unlike isolated or synthetic cannabinoids, full-spectrum hemp oil contains hundreds of beneficial cannabinoids, as well as many essential vitamins (including B1, B2, B6, D) and minerals including iron, zinc, calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids, protein, chlorophyll, fiber, flavonoids, and terpenes.
While there is a minor amount of THC in full-spectrum products, the amounts are practically negligible. For example:
- 1800mg Full Spectrum CBD = 5.4mg THC per 1oz bottle
- 600mg Full Spectrum CBD = 1.8mg THC per 1oz bottle
A typical serving of 1800mg Dreamsicle CBD Oil is 1ml. 1ml of Dreamsicle contains 60mg CBD and 0.18mg THC. This is not enough to produce an intoxifying effect, but does encourage the entourage effect.
The most prominent cannabinoid found in Proper Canna hemp oil is cannabidiol (CBD). Our full-spectrum hemp oil also contains cannabinoid cannabidiolic acid (CBDa) and other major cannabinoids found in full-spectrum hemp extract including cannabigerol (CBD), tetrahydrocannabinol (THC, and cannabinol (CBN).
Several scientific studies show that CBD works much more effectively in the presence of the “whole” cannabis plant, rather than by itself as an isolate. This effect is known as the Entourage Effect. The most you include the full, natural cannabinoid and terpene profile in the final product, the better the result. This is why Proper Canna Naturals chooses to provide USDA organic, full-spectrum, and broad-spectrum hemp products.
What Is Broad Spectrum CBD?
Broad-spectrum hemp extract contains all of the beneficial phytocannabinoids we love, including cannabidiol (CBD) but excludes THC.
Broad-spectrum CBD starts out as a full-spectrum extract with all of hemp’s beneficial properties, such as terpenes and all present cannabinoids, then goes through a remediation process to remove the THC. This means there are absolutely no intoxifying effects. Simply put, broad-spectrum hemp extract is full-spectrum hemp extract without the THC.
Proper Canna Naturals proudly offers broad-spectrum products for customers who are looking for all of the beneficial properties of full-spectrum CBD, without the psychoactive compound of THC.
